What Remains of Edith Finch Review

Kersti Rating: 9/10 (would have been 10/10 if it were longer)

Cost vs. Value:  At $19.99, if you like narrative in games, it is 100% worth it.

TLDR: What Remains of Edith Finch is a masterful piece of storytelling in context of any piece of media, let alone video games. Even if you are not a video game person, if you like narrative I recommend this game to you. If you play any video game, make it this one. It is worth it.

I don’t think I have officially reviewed a game on my blog yet, and I am very pleased that the first one I am going to review I am going to give a 9/10. The story of What Remains of Edith Finch is compelling in content and beautifully told. The writing is amazing, the voice acting is wonderful, the music is heart wrenching. The visuals are incredible, the compositions exquisite. The camera movements are masterful and more elegantly implemented than practically any other video game I have ever seen. Everything about this game is solid, perfectly crafted, and worth experiencing. I cannot recommend it enough.

  1. I love this game so much! For me, though the narrative was excellent and the twist ending was bittersweet, what I love most about this story was the house itself. A.k.a. the books everywhere and all the secret passages and doors. It’s the most eccentric house and, when I first played it, I really wanted to live there! Thank you for sharing!
